Honoring 2023 Physician of the Year, Phillip Kissel, M.D.

Dr. Kissel is a board-certified neurosurgeon based in San Luis Obispo. After earning his medical degree in Chicago and completing his residency at the University of Los Angeles, he established his clinical practice in 1989. His expertise includes the treatment of a multitude of neurosurgical conditions, encompassing those that affect the spine, brain, and peripheral nerves.

In addition to his active practice, Dr. Kissel participates in academic programs as both a clinical instructor and referral source. His innovative research and unwavering commitment to resource development for neurological disorders have earned him recognition from his peers, exemplified by his nomination for his forward-thinking contributions in the field, particularly in the San Luis Obispo area.
